Technical Theatre Production Intern

Nashville Repertory Theatre is currently seeking collaborative self-starters to serve as Technical Theatre Production Interns for its 2018-2019 season. This position will assist the Technical Director, Head of Design, and the Properties Master/Rentals Manager in providing each production with all scenic and property needs. Applicants will participate in an active professional scene shop and work toward broadening their knowledge in scenic carpentry, painting, welding, finishing, and properties design/construction.

Theatre Production interns report directly to the Technical Director.

Applicants must have a basic knowledge of theatrical construction techniques, a basic familiarity with tools, the ability to lift 50-75lbs on a regular basis, and a strong will to learn.


Duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Props construction and maintenance
• Assisting the Properties Master in set dressing
• Prop shop and prop storage maintenance
• Load-in/load-out crew
• Scenic construction
• Scene Shop Maintenance
• Base painting
• Run crew as needed
• Other duties as assigned


**Professional Interns work an average of 30 hours a week, not including tech week or special events where additional hours may be required.**
