REPALOUD

REPaloud (Reading Excellent Plays Aloud) is an opportunity for Nashville Rep to share exceptional scripts as staged readings with casual and experienced theatre fans. The titles performed at REPalouds cover a range of genres and topics, and the reading is immediately followed by a moderated talkback so the audience can voice their impressions of the play – what surprised them, engaged them, angered them, confused them, etc.

UPCOMING

Join us for ROMEO & JULIET, a gender-swapped REPaloud staged reading. Nashville Repertory Theatre and Nashville Shakespeare Festival are thrilled to bring this beloved classic to the stage with a twist watch everyone’s favorite star-crossed lovers, Lady Romeo Montague and Lord Juliet Capulet, fall in love in a whole new way. Tickets are free but required!

RECENT

Our most recent REPaloud featured The Clean House by the incomparable Sarah Ruhl, this year’s Ingram New Works Fellow, on January 12, 2019. Two of Sarah’s plays have been finalists for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and she has received a Tony Award nomination for Best Play.

LookIN

Free Event! Produced in association with Tennessee Performing Arts Center Education. Nashville Repertory Theatre's LookIns are fun and insightful events that dive into the creative process behind our next theatre production. Each event features remarks by the play’s director, an in-rehearsal scene with the actors, meet-and-greet opportunities with cast and creative staff and other Nashville Rep supporters, plus food and drinks provided by Nashville Rep volunteers.

There is a LookIn for each MainStage production in our 2018-19 season on the final Tuesday before opening night, 6:00 PM-7:00 PM, located at Nashville Repertory Theatre's Rehearsal Hall in Nashville Public Television's Studio A.

Cold Read Club

We’ve started a new monthly event! The Cold Read Club is just like a book club, but for plays! The group meets monthly at Bongo After Hours to discuss and read selections from a fantastic play. Reach out to Tessa@nashvillerep.org to get involved.
