Nashville Rep, in collaboration with Pipeline-Collective, is thrilled to be presenting a REPaloud of A DOLL’S HOUSE by Henrik Ibsen, adapted by Frank McGuninness. This play, in which a woman faced with the choice between being her true self and being a wife and mother, chooses to leave, caused a huge uproar in 1879. The continuing resonance of the play with contemporary audiences is the basis for playwright Lucas Hnath’s A DOLL’S HOUSE PART 2, which picks up fifteen years after Nora famously walked out her door. The hottest ticket on Broadway last year, Nashville Rep’s coming regional premiere production in October will be even more enjoyable if you refresh yourself on Part One. In partnership with OZ Arts Nashville.
Directed by David Ian Lee
Cast includes: Karen Sternberg, Brent Maddox, Aleta Myles, Rene Millan, Matt Carlton, and Wesley Paine
The reading will be followed by a Talkback moderated by Rep artistic director, Rene Copeland.
